About The Role

As our next Drill & Blast Engineer reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

The Drill and Blast Engineer will be responsible for drill and blast designs and loading. This role will work closely mine planning team to provide designs and schedules to support the execution of the mine plan. Key duties also include:

- Drill pattern designs

Loading and tie up design - product selection to maximise fragmentation * Weekly drill and blast schedules
- Explosives ordering
- Blast reconciliations post blast and communication of results
- Integrated approach and collaboration with planners to maximise coal flow
- Communicate any changing to plans across the wider team
- Develop strong working relationships with drill and blast team
- Look for opportunities of continuous improvement of the drill and blast processes onsite
- Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment at all times

About You

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) * Minimum 2 years' site experience in an operational mining engineering capacity (open cut preferred).

- Attitude to learn and work ethic to deliver the required information to drill and blast crew
- Experience with Blast Logic, Vulcan or similar software




- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
- A commitment to the best practice of health and safety at all times
- Excellent behavioural, time management, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
