About the role

The Main South Surgery is seeking an Experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, approximately 15 hours per week, we are located in O'Halloran Hill, SA 5158. As an Experienced Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and delivering exceptional customer service. This position is essential to maintaining the welcoming and qualified atmosphere our patients expect, whilst supporting our clinical staff to provide quality healthcare services.

We are seeking someone who can commence immediately.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth, creating a positive first impression

- Managing telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members

- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments, optimizing clinic schedules

- Processing patient registrations and updating patient records accurately

- Collecting payments and managing billing transactions

- Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with health information privacy regulations

- Processing medical referrals and correspondence

- Providing information about services, procedures and appointment availability

- Managing waiting room operations and maintaining a clean, organized reception area

- Supporting administrative tasks as required by the practice

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a medical receptionist and Best Practice software experience preferred

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills





- Strong organizational and time management abilities

- Proficiency with medical practice management software and computer systems

- Customer service excellence with the ability to remain calm under pressure

- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

- Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures

- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation

- Flexibility and adaptability in a casual work arrangement

- Must be available to cover sick leave and annual leave
