An established and growing civil contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their team working across bulk and detailed excavation projects throughout Sydney.

About the Business

Our client is a well-regarded civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex excavation, civil works, remediation and demolition projects across Sydney. They work closely with tier-one builders including John Holland, CPB Contractors and Hutchinson.

The Role

Reporting into senior project leadership, you'll take ownership of the engineering and delivery of bulk and detailed excavation packages.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the engineering and delivery of bulk and detailed excavation works across live sites
- Liaise directly with tier-one client representatives (builders/head contractors) on program, quality and commercial matters
- Develop and manage project programs, methodologies and resourcing plans
- Coordinate plant, equipment and subcontractor requirements to meet project milestones
- Monitor project costs, variations and progress against budget
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements on site
- Support and mentor junior engineering and site staff




- Contribute to tendering, planning and pre-construction activities as required

About You

- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer within civil construction, ideally with exposure to bulk and/or detailed excavation
- Experience working with or alongside tier-one builders highly regarded
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodology, programming and cost control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with genuine ambition to progress into a management role
- Current driver's licence
