About the role

Fred NT is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant in Civil Plumbing or someone eager to learn to join us on a full-time basis, performing works within Indigenous communities across the top end of Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with construction and installation of Water mains, sewer mains, including gravity and rising mains

- Carry out water and sewer service installations to properties

- Perform maintenance tasks such as repairing leaking water mains, unblocking sewers, and maintaining sewer ponds

- Respond to water leak and plumbing-related call outs under panel contract agreements

- Equip and maintain water bores, including bore augmentation and rising mains

- Prepare and organize materials and equipment for transport to remote communities

- Accurately record job progress and time sheets using an iPhone and ServiceM8

- Collaborate effectively within a team to deliver both project-based and reactive works

- Follow safety and operational procedures across various civil plumbing projects

About you

- Minimum of 3 years' experience in civil or plumbing-related works is desirable

- Current motor vehicle driver's licence

- White Card (General Construction Induction)

- Plumbing certificate or licence (required if employed in a plumber role)





- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment

- High-risk work licences (desirable but not essential)

- HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's licence is an advantage

- Confined space entry training completed within the last 12 months is desirable

- First aid certification completed within the last 24 months is preferred

- Willingness to learn and support a variety of project and maintenance tasks

Salary package options

Flat rate from $40 - $50/hr + $75 overnight allowance

$35 - $45/hr for first 40 hours of the week, then any after this at 2x + $75 overnight allowance (e.g. 70-hour week with 7 nights away would earn 40x $40 + 30x $80 + 7x $75)
