The Gig, In Short

Melbourne Cup Carnival. The Australian Grand Prix. If it's loud, busy and buzzing, we're probably catering it. Food & Desire caters for two of the biggest events on the Victorian calendar, plus a roster of corporate functions, private events and other major clients throughout the year. We need legends who can hustle through a general Tuesday service just as well as they can survive Cup Week at Flemington or the full-throttle chaos of GP27 at Albert Park.

We're after Front of House, Runners, Bartenders and Event Supervisors to join our casual crew across all venues, with plenty of shifts heating up at Albert Park for Grand Prix season and down at Sunnyside on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Roles

Event & Bar Supervisors

You've done the floor and you're ready to run it. Lead a team through briefings, service and the inevitable curveballs, and keep the whole operation calm, sharp and on time.

Front of House

You're the face of the experience. Warm, quick on your feet, and able to read a room (even when that room is a 700-person dinner).

Bartenders

Cocktails, cold ones, and friendly faces behind the bar. Confidence, speed and a smile under pressure are non-negotiable.

Runners

Fast hands, faster feet. You keep the pass moving and the bars stocked, even when service goes from zero to a hundred in the space of a lap.

- Team players who can also think on their feet solo

- Prior experience preferred for Bartender and Event & Bar Supervisor roles, but attitude counts for a lot

- Availability across event periods (including weekends)
