As the Waste and Recycling Infrastructure Coordinator, you will play a pivotal leadership role in planning, delivering and maintaining the waste and recycling infrastructure that supports one of Queensland's fastest growing cities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic infrastructure initiatives, oversee landfill operations, and contribute to the sustainable future of the City of Logan.

About the role

- Lead Council's short, medium and long-term waste and recycling infrastructure planning.
- Manage the development, review and delivery of complex waste infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with engineering, environmental and legislative requirements.
- Prepare and manage the Branch's 10-year capital budget and infrastructure investment priorities.
- Develop business cases, grant applications, reports and strategic recommendations that support Branch objectives.
- Oversee landfill operations, including plant and equipment requirements, operational planning and contractor performance to ensure environmental and safety compliance.Manage infrastructure construction and maintenance programs across landfill, transfer station, stormwater and associated waste management assets.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Branch Asset Management Plan.
- Deliver capital works programs through effective contract management, tendering and project delivery practices.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to the landfill operations team of waste infrastructure professionals to achieve safety, operational and strategic outcomes.
- Review and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Council's waste and recycling facility network.

About You

- Relevant qualifications in engineering, environmental management, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Significant experience delivering waste and recycling capital works programs across complex, multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction and delivery.
- Robust contract management expertise, including tender development, contractor engagement, performance management and procurement processes.
- Sound knowledge of contemporary waste management operations, including landfill, transfer station and alternative waste treatment systems.
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple strategic projects, construction programs and maintenance activities simultaneously.
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.




- Ability to think strategically while maintaining a strong focus on operational outcomes and service delivery.

Key Indicators for Success

- Possession of a current "C" Class Driver Licence.
- Ability to be appointed as an authorised person under relevant legislation.
- Successful completion of a National Police Check.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours duties, including an on-call roster and providing operational support outside normal business hours as required.
- Compliance with Council's vaccination requirements, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus.
- Ability to lead operational and professional teams, manage complex infrastructure programs and deliver projects on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
