What you will do

As Senior Advisor, Risk, you will provide leadership in the development and practical application of the department's risk management framework and program. The role delivers high‑quality risk advice, leads initiatives to uplift risk capability, and supports the consistent application of risk policies, tools, and practices across the department.

You will:

- coordinate risk work across business areas to reduce operational exposure
- support the risk program, including risk registers, systems, policies, tools and training
- design practical workshops and projects that build stronger risk skills
- review risk policies and improve frameworks, processes and guidance
- prepare clear advice and briefings to support senior and Ministerial decisions.

About you

A relevant tertiary or industry qualification in assurance, risk management, governance or a related field is desirable. Your practical experience in complex environments will also be highly valued.

You should also have:

- strong operational risk experience, including identifying, assessing and reducing risks in complex settings
- experience applying risk frameworks and standards in practical ways that work for the organisation
- sound judgement when interpreting risk policies and adapting them to real work settings
- strong problem-solving and relationship skills,



with the ability to work across teams and support change.
