About the Role

This position is based in the Asset Programs Branch, which is responsible for delivering support for schools through the management of the Response programs, deployment of modular buildings, and the delivery of sustainability programs to promote energy efficiency and respond to the impact of climate change.

As a Project Advisor, you will oversee the Department's division 5 program and manage the asbestos database. The program requires working with service providers to schedule audits, review audits and update the database following audits and removals. The role also requires providing data from the database, and offering support to schools and other VSBA units.

This role requires someone with a keen eye for detail who can thrive in a flexible, high-performing division within the VSBA. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of time, whilst managing internal and external stakeholders to support the continued management of the Department's Asbestos Database.

Key duties will include:

- Overseeing the Department's Division 5 Program and managing the Department's Asbestos Database by working with internal and external stakeholders to schedule and review audits,
- Updating the relevant databases, and
- Support schools and other internal stakeholders to obtain and submit documentation required as part of asbestos removal works.

About the Victorian School Building Authority

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education and leads the planning, delivery and maintenance of education facilities across both schools and early learning settings. Established in 2016, it oversees one of Victoria's largest building programs, supporting the full education lifecycle from early childhood to secondary school. In response to Victoria's introduction of Two Years of Funded Kindergarten, the VSBA is working closely with the early childhood sector to deliver a significant pipeline of new and expanded kindergarten facilities, often co-located with schools.

The VSBA brings together expertise in property, construction and project management, architecture, facilities maintenance, and education operations, alongside specialists in relocatable buildings, data and policy, finance, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

About the Division

The Asset Management and Operations Division helps schools maintain and manage their buildings and grounds and ensures they are more energy effective. The Division trains school leaders as facilities managers and supports them to develop school maintenance plans. They coordinate programs, assessments, and systems to ensure schools are routinely maintained and cleaned.





The Division includes the Maintenance Delivery Branch, Asset Programs Branch and Asset Operations Branch
