Seven Hills
The RPC Group of Companies is a recognised leader in advanced composite engineering and manufacturing, proudly celebrating 50 years of delivering creative, high-quality solutions across Australia and internationally.
Since 1975, we have completed over $3 billion in projects for critical industries including transport, mobility, water and wastewater, mining, infrastructure, defence, and asset services. We continue to drive engineering excellence, create skilled local employment, and strengthen Australia’s sovereign manufacturing capability, while expanding our presence in Southeast Asia and India, to provide advanced engineered solutions and industry leadership.
The Opportunity
The Head of Marketing owns marketing strategy and execution for RPC Group. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is accountable for all external-facing messaging; website, collateral, blog and content, and events; and for building the systems (a marketing calendar, campaign cadence, and content pipeline) that allow a small team to punch above its weight.
The role sits at the intersection of five Sectors, each with distinct audiences, buyers and value propositions, and must translate that diversity into tailored, credible materials without fragmenting the RPC brand. It also partners with HR on candidate-facing content, recognising that in a competitive skilled-labour market, employer brand is part of the marketing remit.
This is a hands-on leadership role: the successful candidate will set direction and represent marketing at the leadership level, while also directly producing and reviewing work alongside a small, lean team.
This is a rare opportunity to build a marketing function at a business with a 50-year heritage and poised for growth across Australia, India, and Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will have direct access to the Managing Director and senior leadership, real scope to shape brand and strategy, and a clear path to grow the function, and their own role, as RPC's marketing maturity increases.
RPC’s Vision is to be the preferred choice of our customers for innovative engineered solutions where safety, quality and reliability matters.
RPC’s Mission is to understand our customers’ needs and provide viable engineered solutions, by being agile in our approach, responsive to our stakeholders and creating a sustainable future.
The Key Responsibilities
Brand & Messaging
- Own and protect the RPC brand — voice, visual identity and positioning — ensuring consistency across all Sectors, entities and markets while allowing appropriate flexibility for local/sector context.
- Develop and maintain core brand messaging and positioning statements for RPC Group and for each Sector.
- Act as final reviewer on all externally facing content to ensure it is on-brand, accurate and consistent.
Sector Marketing
- Work directly with the Business Development Lead and Practice Leader for each Sector (Infrastructure, Transport, Defence, Product, Asset Services) to understand their audience, competitive position and priorities.
- Tailor messaging, collateral and campaigns to each Sector's audience and value proposition, while keeping them recognisably part of One RPC.
- Support Sector teams with bid and tender collateral, case studies and capability statements as required.
Talent & Employer Brand
- Partner with HR to develop candidate-facing content and touchpoints — careers page, job ad templates, employer brand messaging and recruitment collateral.
- Ensure employer brand content is consistent with RPC's broader brand and reflects the business's culture and value proposition to prospective employees.
Content, Digital & Collateral
- Own all marketing messaging across the website, sales and tender collateral, and the blog/content program.
- Direct the Marketing & Communications Team on content production, prioritisation and quality.
- Maintain the website as an accurate, current, and lead-generating asset
Events & Campaign Strategy
- Set RPC's event strategy aligned with LOB, including conferences, trade shows and industry events to attend or sponsor, and to what end.
- Own and maintain the marketing calendar, sequencing campaigns, content and events across the year.
- Plan and drive campaigns from concept through to execution and reporting, working with Sector leads to align timing with commercial priorities.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and prioritise the work of the Marketing & Communications Team.
- Manage the marketing budget and any external agency or freelance relationships (design, digital, PR, etc.).
- Build the case for future investment in the function — team, tools and budget — as RPC's marketing maturity grows.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in a B2B marketing role, ideally spanning brand, product, content and campaign execution, in an engineering, industrial, infrastructure, construction or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical or sector-specific value propositions into clear, credible marketing content.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior commercial and technical leaders (BD Leads, Practice Leaders) and represent marketing at the leadership level
- Hands-on capability across website content management, campaign planning and content production — this role will do as well as direct
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members and/or external agencies
- Experience working with BD and Bid Managers
- Excellent written communication skills (including creating/editing documents, slides, and collateral), with solid editorial judgement
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
Desirable:
- Experience marketing to government, defence, infrastructure or major-contractor audiences
- Familiarity with marketing analytics and CRM/marketing automation tools
- Experience building a marketing function or brand from an early stage of maturity
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-country organisations
- Training or certification in digital marketing, analytics, CRM, marketing automation, brand strategy or content strategy
