The Opportunity

Wild Desert is seeking skilled Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Roma on a 2/2 DIDO Roster.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play an integral part of the Wild Desert Maintenance Team ensuring that repairs and preventative maintenance are carried out in adherence to the Wild Desert Preventative Maintenance System and Quality Management System.

The Wild Desert fleet consists of prime movers, rig trucks and heavy haulage equipment.

Key responsibilities

- Repair and maintenance work on Transport and Rig Equipment
- Repair and fault finding on hydraulics, electric and compressed air systems
- Inspect parts for wear and replace to prevent equipment failures
- Attend to field breakdown situations as required
- Identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed




- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure efficient operations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
- Complete work tasks as assigned in Business Management System

What we're looking for

- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 3 years' experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and practical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Oil and Gas Field experience is favourable
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position
