About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Corrosion & Durability Engineer to join our Sydney-based Remedial Engineering Services (RES) team. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse range of corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, condition assessment, remediation, and asset integrity projects across New South Wales.

In the RES team, we combine the technical capability of a specialist engineering consultancy with the practical mindset of a contractor. We don't just identify problems, we develop solutions and help deliver them.

As a Corrosion & Durability Engineer, you'll work on the front line of asset integrity, investigating deterioration, assessing risk, developing remediation strategies, and supporting the delivery of real-world solutions across critical infrastructure.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys getting out from behind the desk and into the field. You'll be equally comfortable inspecting structures, working alongside construction teams, engaging with clients, and preparing the technical assessments that drive project outcomes.

Working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors, you will provide specialist engineering expertise to help ensure the durability, integrity, and long-term performance of critical infrastructure assets. You will work on challenging projects where your recommendations directly influence how assets are maintained, repaired, protected, and extended for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide corrosion and durability engineering support across a broad portfolio of infrastructure projects.

- Assist with the design, implementation, inspection, and maintenance of cathodic protection (CP) systems.

- Conduct condition assessments, asset integrity inspections, and field investigations.

- Prepare technical reports, engineering recommendations, specifications, and project documentation.

- Support project delivery through all phases, from planning and investigation to execution and close-out.

- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the business and project teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in corrosion engineering, durability, remediation, asset integrity, or project engineering.

- Experience working on maintenance, infrastructure, asset management, or integrity-related projects.

- Robust technical report-writing and communication skills.

- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

- A proactive attitude and willingness to undertake site inspections and field activities.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

- AMPP/NACE Cathodic Protection certification or similar industry accreditation.

- Experience in cathodic protection design, installation, testing, or assessment.

- Knowledge of condition assessment methodologies, corrosion mitigation strategies, and asset management principles.

- Experience in structural remediation, durability, asset protection, or infrastructure maintenance projects.

- Exposure to site-based engineering, construction, inspection, or remediation activities.

- Commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, controlling costs and identifying value-driven solutions.

- Ability to balance technical engineering requirements with constructability, safety, cost, and programme considerations.

- Experience engaging with clients, site personnel, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
