We are seeking safety-focused and reliable Washdown Operators to join our growing team at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Port.
The successful candidates will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across mine site assets and operational areas while working safely around large-scale mining equipment and infrastructure. This role is suited to individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
About the Role
- 5:5:4 roster – day shift only
- 12-hour shifts
- Residential role servicing Wickham, Roebourne, Point Samson and Karratha
- Work across mine site structures, pads, operational areas and associated assets
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-pressure washdowns of mine site assets, including structures, pads and operational areas
- Wash down large-scale mining equipment and infrastructure, including stackers and reclaimers
- Operate washdown equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete required site safety documentation, including Take 5s, CCCs and JHAs
- Identify and report hazards, equipment issues and maintenance requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-presented work environment
- Work cooperatively with site personnel, supervisors and other contractors to meet operational requirements
- Follow all site safety, environmental and operational procedures
To Be Successfully Considered, You Will Have
- Current Western Australian Driver’s Licence – essential
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- A proactive approach with strong time-management skills
- Solid work ethic, reliability and commitment to safety
- Good communication and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Physically fit and capable of working 12-hour shifts in Pilbara conditions
- Previous mining, washdown or industrial experience will be highly regarded
