About the role

Paige Stainless Fabrications is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. Based in Caboolture, Queensland, this role is integral to managing our supplier relationships and maintaining the financial health of our organisation. You will be responsible for processing invoices, managing payments, and ensuring accurate financial records across all accounts payable functions, with the opportunity to broaden into wider finance responsibilities as the role develops. The role also includes providing backup support to our Despatch Coordinator approximately 1 to 2 days per week, with full training provided.

Full-time (38 hrs) and part-time (30 hrs) arrangements are both available, we're happy to discuss what suits you.

Key Responsibilities

- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete and authorised according to company policy

- Managing the accounts payable ledger and reconciling supplier statements on a regular basis

- Preparing electronic payments to suppliers in a timely manner whilst maintaining proper approval workflows

- Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies, payment queries and supplier disputes

- Processing employee credit card transactions and following up supporting receipts

- Maintaining accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and filing documentation systematically

- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals and prepayments

- Liaising with suppliers regarding payment queries, outstanding invoices and account reconciliations

- Providing backup support to the Despatch Coordinator approximately 1 to 2 days per week

- Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

- Ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls and relevant accounting standards

What we're looking for

- Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounts payable role, ideally within a manufacturing or similar operational environment





- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP is advantageous

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial transactions

- Solid understanding of accounts payable best practices and internal control procedures

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders

- Reliable, trustworthy and committed to maintaining confidentiality of financial information, with consistent availability including during peak periods

- Familiarity with GST and taxation compliance is desirable
