Founded in 1983, Swan Christian College is a co-educationalChristian school in Swan Valley, educating around 1,600 studentsfrom Kindergarten to Year 12. Swan Christian College is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join our SecondarySchool teaching team. This is a full-timeposition commencing 1 January 2027 and isa fixed-term cover for the full year.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging, student-centred lessons using diverseteaching strategies that support individual learningneeds.
- Differentiate learning through targeted remediation andextension opportunities to maximise student success.
- Track, monitor and report on student progress, maintainingaccurate records and communicating effectively with parents andstaff.
- Support students to develop strong organisational, studyand learning skills for academic growth.
- Provide pastoral care as required and promote thespiritual, emotional, social and academic wellbeing ofstudents.
- Contribute actively to College life, upholding Christianvalues, participating in events and fulfilling co-curricularand operational responsibilities.

- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church, living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families,College staff and key stakeholders.
- Communicate confidently and professionally, demonstratingoutstanding interpersonal skills.
- Manage competing priorities effectively, staying organisedand responsive in a fast-paced environment.
- Show initiative, solve problems proactively and make sounddecisions while working collaboratively and followingdirection.
- Holds a current Working with Children Check and valid TRBWAregistration or willingness to apply for one.

Desirable Criteria

- Familiarity with a variety of teaching and learningstrategies to appropriately meet students’ needs and courseobjectives.
- Strategies used to communicate effectively with adults andstudents.
- Experience with a variety of suitable formative andsummative assessment strategies with students.
