We are seeking an internationally based researcher to relocate to beautiful Sydney to lead a research team in clinical or discovery pain research, at the Pain Management Research Institute (PMRI), Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

About the institute: PMRI uniquely brings together discovery and clinical pain researchers, multidisciplinary pain clinicians, and educators, to improve understanding of all forms of pain and their treatments. PMRI is located at the Royal North Shore Hospital and Kolling Institute — located only 10-minute drive from Sydney harbour. The Kolling Institute is a joint venture partnership between the Northern Sydney Local Health District and the University of Sydney . The University of Sydney is a top Australian university and top 20 in the world ranking.

Position Overview
n
We are seeking a visionary pain researcher with a strong track record in clinical pain or discovery science—including molecular, cellular, systems, network or genetic 2
n
approaches—who are interested in establishing and running their own research group within our multidisciplinary institute.
n
n
- Location: Royal North Shore Hospital campus, Northern Sydney Local Health District, St Leonards, NSW 2065, Australia
n
- Duration: 3–5 years
n
- Start Date: Flexible, subject to grant timelines
n
n
Grant Funding Package will include
n
n
- Relocation costs for researcher (up to $10,000) and family (up to additional $20,000) with appropriate justification
n
- Salary: Commensurate with experience ( Principal Hospital Scientist NSW Health Award or similar)
n
- NSW Health Elite Researcher Grant will be sought for start up project funding Additional Support: Established office and lab space with clinical/pre-clinical collaborations, top level research infrastructure, and support for affiliation with the University of Sydney.
n
- Currently residing and working outside Australia
n
- Established leader in clinical or pre-clinical/discovery pain research with a strong publication and funding track record
n
- Commitment to relocating and leading pain research group in Sydney for a minimum of 3 years
n
