Educational Leader role in a Reggio Emilia inspired centre delivering high-quality early childhood education with supportive leadership and growth

I am currently partnering with a highly regarded and innovative early learning provider in Melbourne’s bayside/south-east region to recruit an experienced Educational Leader who is passionate about pedagogy, mentoring teams, and delivering exceptional outcomes for children. This opportunity is available on either a part-time or full-time basis, offering flexibility to suit the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident early childhood professional who enjoys leading curriculum direction, inspiring educators, and embedding high-quality practice within a progressive learning environment.

About the Service
This purpose-built centre caters for children from nursery through to kindergarten age in beautifully designed spaces that encourage creativity, movement, connection, and exploration. The program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, recognising children as capable learners and valuing inquiry, collaboration, and the environment as the third teacher.
The service is known for its strong community values, inclusive culture, sustainability focus, and commitment to meaningful relationships with children and families.

About the Role
As the Educational Leader, you will play a key role in guiding curriculum quality across the centre while supporting educators to grow in confidence, capability, and reflective practice.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will oversee programming, mentor staff, and help create rich learning experiences that respond to children’s interests and development.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead curriculum development aligned with Reggio Emilia philosophy and EYLF
- Mentor educators through coaching and reflective practice
- Oversee planning cycles, observations, and documentation
- Support engaging environments that inspire curiosity and learning
- Drive continuous improvement across educational practice
- Promote child-led learning and inquiry projects
- Build strong relationships with families and community
- Collaborate with leadership on centre operations
- Maintain high standards across all age groups

Skills & Experience Required

- Diploma, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor, or Master of Early Childhood Education
- Current Working with Children Check
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience
- Strong understanding of curriculum and pedagogy
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion for inquiry-led learning and reflective practice
- Genuine commitment to high-quality early childhood education
