The Firm:
n Our client is a market-leading firm specialising in corporate and commercial law. A new opportunity has opened up for a senior lawyer to join the Property team in either Sydney or Newcastle. The firm's client base includes:
n

- Mining and manufacturing
n
- Small-cap listed and growth companies
n
- Corporate projects and asset-intensive businesses
n
- Sophisticated high-net-worth individuals and family offices
n

The Prospect:
n This role would suit a Senior Property Lawyer (current partner, special counsel or senior associate) looking to join a well-established firm to strengthen and grow its property capability across M&A-driven; transactions, capital activity, corporate projects and sophisticated private client portfolios.
n
The firm is well regarded for its high retention rates, long tenure, flexibility and respect for its staff.
n
The role is open to full-time or part-time (3–4 days per week) arrangements in either Sydney or Newcastle.
n
Career development:
n For partners, an existing client base or credible practice-building plan is required.

The role:
n You will manage an existing team and run the property workstream on complex, commercially-driven transactions and portfolio matters, including:
n
n
- Corporate transactions and M&A; support (property side)
n
- Capital activity, corporate projects and land arrangements
n
- Planning, approvals and environmental overlays
n
- Commercial and industrial leasing
n
- Portfolio and sophisticated private client work
n
n
Background:
n This role would suit someone with the following skills and experience.
n
n
- Significant experience in commercial property transactions and commercial/industrial leasing
n
- A strong understanding of M&A; transactions, specifically the property due diligence aspects
n
- Working knowledge of planning and approvals
n
- Ability to manage environmental overlays in transactions and projects (excluding native title)
n
- Managing and developing existing client relationships
n
- Practice development and marketing skills
n
