Lead Data Engineer (Informatica)

n

Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Remuneration: Excellent Annual Package

We are hiring a Lead Data Engineer to manage a team of 7 developers while driving data pipeline automation and cloud modernization for a major banking client using an AI-first engineering approach.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of 7 data developers in executing pipeline deliverables.
n
- IDMC Development: Design and build high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica IDMC (CDI, CAI, DQ) and Python across enterprise cloud platforms.
n
- AI & Automation: Apply AI agents to automate coding, data mapping, testing, orchestration, and documentation.
n
- Technical Leadership: Serve as SME for Informatica IDMC—setting design patterns, standards, and best practices.
n
- Modernization:



Partner with architects to drive cloud migrations and system simplification while maintaining strict banking compliance.

Key Requirements

n

n
- Informatica Expertise: Expert-level experience with Informatica IDMC and PowerCenter.
n
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading small engineering teams (5+ developers).
n
- Data Engineering: Strong background building high-volume, time-critical pipelines with advanced SQL skills.
n
- Tooling: Proficiency with Python and contemporary CI/CD tooling (Git, Bitbucket, DevSecOps).
n
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
n
