Share Outstanding Conversation, Footy and Friendship

We're looking for a friendly, outgoing volunteer to visit an older gentleman in Surry Hills who would enjoy regular companionship and engaging conversation.

A keen footy fan with an interest in culture, current affairs, and a wide range of topics, he enjoys thoughtful discussions and hearing different perspectives. He is open-minded and happy to chat about almost anything, making each visit an opportunity for genuine connection and engaging conversation.

Living at home, he would benefit from regular social interaction and is particularly hoping to be matched with an extroverted volunteer who enjoys leading conversations and helping keep discussions flowing. Whether you're talking about the latest game, sharing life experiences, or exploring cultural topics, your company could make a meaningful difference to his week.

As a volunteer, you might:

- Chat about footy, sport, and current events

- Discuss cultural topics, history, or travel

- Share stories and life experiences

- Enjoy a coffee and friendly conversation

- Provide regular companionship and social connection

What's involved?

- A minimum 6-month commitment

- Fortnightly visits

- Visits on the same day and time to help build a meaningful and lasting friendship

- Visits can take place Monday to Sunday, for one hour, anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm

- Visits take place in his home in Surry Hills

No special skills or experience are required. We're looking for someone who is kind, reliable, patient, and enjoys connecting with others.

Please note: This role is focused on building a quality, consistent friendship and is not suitable for work experience, student placements or placement requirements.
