Enertis Applus+ is seeking Testing Technicians to join a renewable energy project in Queensland, north of Rockhampton. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the renewable energy sector, with no previous industry experience required.

Following an in office induction, as a Testing Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed visual inspections of photovoltaic (PV) modules at a utility-scale solar farm. The role involves identifying, documenting, and classifying module defects, with a particular focus on cracked glass and other visible anomalies.

You will perform field inspections, collect accurate technical data, record module traceability information, capture photographic evidence, and support the preparation of technical assessment reports.

Project Details

n

n
- Start Date: ASAP, with a preferred commencement in early September
n
- Duration: 6-8 weeks, with the possibility of extension
n
- Point of Hire: Queensland preferred, however applicants from other locations across Australia will be considered
n
- Travel & Accommodation: Flights and camp accommodation provided
n
- Roster: 6 days per week for the duration of the project
n
- Hours: 10-hour days, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Locate and identify PV modules with reported or observed defects.
n
- Inspect front and rear module surfaces for visible defects and damage.
n
- Record module identification details, including serial number (SN), module type, and site location.
n
- Capture photographic evidence of module serial numbers and installation locations.
n
- Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability documentation.

Essential

- No previous experience required

- Current White Card
n
- Valid Driver's Licence
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
n
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.

- Ability to perform repetitive inspections and photographic documentation activities.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and record defects
n
- Good communication skills
n
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
- Commitment to safe work practices and completing project objectives
n
- Customer and client-focused attitude when required

Desirable

n

- Applicants currently based in Queensland are preferred, although interstate candidates will also be considered
n
- Experience working in utility-scale solar farms or renewable energy projects.
n
- Experience performing field inspections or construction quality inspections.Understanding of Australian health and safety requirements

- Commitment to working in accordance with Enertis Applus+ safety and quality standards
