About the role

n

Day-to-day oversight and handling of all purchasing operations: vendor sourcing, purchase orders, inventory control and supplier relationships — backfilling the Procurement & Production Manager's procurement time and providing informed cover for the function.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process including sourcing, procurement, and delivery of goods and services
n
- Source finished goods and raw materials from both local and international suppliers through effective communication and price analysis, coordinating with third-party freight forwarders and customs brokers as required
n
- Research, evaluate, and onboard potential vendors to establish a reliable and secure supplier network
n
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and manage ongoing vendor relationships
n
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve best value for Gastech
n
- Create, process, and track purchase orders in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery; convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders
n
- Maintain inventory control and reporting on status (cycle counts, stocktakes) maximising NetSuite utilisation — including demand forecasting, safety stock and reorder point management
n
- Review quality of purchased products and ensure suppliers meet Gastech's ethical, quality, and compliance standards; work closely with suppliers to maintain a consistent level of quality, minimise return rates,



and establish clear expectations

- Identify and recommend cost saving opportunities across all procurement activities; contribute to procurement process improvement and spend analysis
n
- Maintain knowledge of procurement techniques, contract administration, suppliers, and customs and duties, including landed-cost and currency awareness on international purchases
n

About you

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role
n
- Strong negotiation abilities and commercial acumen
n
- Demonstrated experience in supplier sourcing and management
n
- Sound understanding of procurement and supply chain principles and business financials
n
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills
n
- Analytical and numerical skills
n
- Communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Attention to detail and accuracy
n
- A relevant tertiary qualification (business, supply chain or commerce) OR equivalent demonstrated procurement experience
n
