We are looking for a friendly, capable and organised Medical Receptionist to join our small, supportive team for two to three days per week, with the opportunity to increase hours as our clinic continues to grow.
Wellington Medical & Skin Clinic is a privately owned general practice offering GP, skin, cosmetic and ADHD services. We pride ourselves on providing professional, personalised care in a calm and welcoming environment.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for our patients and play an important role in keeping the clinic running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing excellent customer service
- Answering telephone calls and managing patient enquiries
- Booking and managing appointments
- Processing Medicare claims and patient payments
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Managing incoming correspondence, results and referrals
- Supporting the GP and nursing team with administrative tasks
- Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assisting with general clinic organisation and day-to-day operations
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm,
professional and confident communicating with patients
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Calm and capable when managing competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently within a small team
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Respectful of patient confidentiality
- Confident using computers and learning new systems
Previous medical reception experience and familiarity with Best Practice software are highly desirable. Experience with Medicare billing and private patient accounts would also be advantageous.
Hours and employment
- Permanent part time position
- Two full days per week
- Approximately 15 hours per week
- Specific days can be discussed with the successful applicant
- Additional hours may occasionally be available
- Remuneration based on experience and the applicable award
