Fixed Term (3 Year Contract), Full Time Opportunity

Salary Range - $142,277 – $176,522 plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience)

We are seeking an experienced Manager Technology to lead and shape the City of Mitcham’s technology function, building the strategy, governance and capability required to support an increasingly technology-enabled organisation.

The Role

This is an exciting chance to join the City of Mitcham as Manager Technology, providing strategic leadership and shaping the roadmap for Council’s technology function.

As a member of Council’s wider Leadership Group, you will partner with Executives and leaders across the organisation to identify priorities, strengthen technology governance and translate business needs into clear, achievable technology initiatives. You will lead and develop the Technology team while ensuring investment, resources and projects align with Council’s strategic objectives.





This is an influential leadership role where you will help shape how technology enables our organisation, our people and the services we deliver to the community.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- A future-focused mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for AI, emerging technologies and innovative opportunities that improve organisational capability and community outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading a technology team and building capability within a strategic operating model.
- Experience developing and embedding multi-year Information and Communication Technology (ICT) roadmaps and asset management plans.
- Strong experience establishing technology governance and reporting, with the ability to confidently engage Senior Managers, Executives and Elected Members.
- Experience partnering with business leaders to translate organisational priorities into practical, sequenced technology plans.
- Experience developing frameworks to prioritise technology investment, balancing risk, cost, legislative requirements and business readiness.
- Strong knowledge of network security architecture across corporate and operational technology environments.
- Sound commercial acumen, including managed services, contract management and negotiation.
- Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
