About the role

The role of the‘Referral Managementclerkis responsible fora range of activitiespertaining toreferral managementincluding, registration of referrals, managing patient enquiries and waitlist auditing.

Clerical staff provide customer service, clerical and reception related duties that strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes, adheres to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, values and goals of Eastern Health.

Eastern Health Acute Specialist Clinicsarea busy department of the hospital, meeting the needs of patients from the community byprovidinga range of specialist services. Approximately 160 000 occasions of service are provided annually. These include new patients referredfromthe community, review appointments for ongoing care and post admission follow up from Eastern Health’s network of hospitals.

Clerical staff area highly regarded memberof the multidisciplinary team that ensure Specialist Clinics functions well.



Services offered inSpecialist Clinicsinclude,Orthopaedics, Plastics, General Medical, Surgery, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Respiratory, Liver, andPaediatrics.

About you

To be successful in this role you willpossess:

- Year 10 level Englishwritten and spoken
- Knowledge ofpatient management systems (iPM, CPF, EMR)
- Computer competent inMicrosoftWord,Outlookand Excel
- Advancedtelephone skills and clericalskills
- Ability toprovide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner to support high quality patientcentredcare
- Excellent communication andorganisationalskills
- The ability to work as partof a diverse team

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice) . Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year.



Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
