The Opportunity

The Litter Prevention Officer will enhance amenity and safety in the municipality of Melton through the effective and effective administration education and enforcement of community compliance with relevant legislation and Local Laws. This position will be responsible for a broad range of functions within Councils Laws, relevant Acts and Regulations which include litter/illegally dumped rubbish, building sites, parking and fire prevention.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide guidance, advice and assistance to residents, ratepayers, developers, builders and visitors in relation to compliance matters relating to illegally dumped rubbish.




- Plan time effectively and actively patrol the municipal district as rostered or required to ensure compliance with the legislation, issuing notices and infringement notices where necessary in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct inspections and audits of developers and building sites and other tasks relating to the Act and Council’s Building Site Amenity Program.
- Actively monitor CCTV relating to illegally dumped rubbish in hotspot areas.

About you

- Actively monitor CCTV relating to illegally dumped rubbish in hotspot areas.
- Available to work out of hours when required.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
