Overview

AWS is seeking Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) to support the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure within AWS data centre environments. This role is responsible for hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, facility operations and maintenance activities that help keep AWS cloud infrastructure running securely and reliably. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, operational awareness and the ability to work within fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

The role

As an Engineering Operations Technician (EOT), you will support the operation, maintenance and reliability of critical data centre infrastructure across AWS facilities.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting routine and corrective maintenance activities across critical infrastructure systems
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment including generators, UPS systems,



HVAC and cooling systems
- Monitoring and maintaining facility performance, reliability and operational efficiency
- Supporting commissioning and build activities for current infrastructure and facilities
- Assisting with projects to improve facility capacity, sustainability and reliability
- Managing contractors, vendors and maintenance activities on-site
- Supporting operational reporting, asset management and compliance activities
- Participating in 24/7 shift rotations and responding to operational incidents when required

Skills and experience

- Knowledge of mechanical, HVAC or critical infrastructure systems
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Experience working within operational or industrial environments highly regarded
- Understanding of service management processes including change and problem management desirable
- Experience supervising contractors or vendors desirable
- Technical trade qualification, military technical training or engineering certification highly regarded
- Ability to work effectively within shift-based operational environments

Requirements

- Australian Citizenship required
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Ability to successfully complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment
- Valid and current Driver’s Licence required
- Ability to work 24/7 rotating shift patterns, including 12-hour shifts
- Ability to travel and relocate during onboarding and training periods if required
