This is not a role for someone who simply knows how to deliver underground reticulation.
n
I'm looking for someone who knows how to build a business around it.
n
I'm partnering with a growing Australian energy infrastructure contractor that is significantly expanding its capability across renewable generation and electrical Balance of Plant projects.
n
They are looking to appoint a General Manager - Reticulation to establish, grow and lead their reticulation capability.
n
The immediate opportunity is significant, with a major wind project providing the platform to build the function, but the remit goes well beyond one project.
n
The chance
n
You'll have the mandate to build the capability properly:
n
n
- Develop the reticulation business strategy and operating model
n
- Build and lead the delivery team
n
- Recruit the right engineering, construction and supervision capability
n
- Establish supply chain and subcontractor relationships
n
- Develop construction methodologies, systems and processes
n
- Own estimating, productivity, resourcing and delivery strategy
n
- Support tenders and identify future project opportunities
n
- Build relationships across developers, EPCs and the wider renewables market
n
- Understand where the next projects are coming from and position the business to win them
n
- Ultimately create a scalable, profitable national reticulation offering
n
n
The immediate project environment includes a substantial 33kV underground collection network as part of a major wind farm EBoP package.
n
But I'm not looking for someone to come in, deliver that package and leave.
n
The question is: can you use it as the foundation to build a business?
n
Who I'm looking fo r
n
You'll ideally come from wind, solar, BESS, transmission, utilities or major electrical infrastructure and have a strong understanding of underground HV/MV reticulation.
n
n
- More importantly, you'll understand the commercial market around it.
n
- You know how these packages are priced.
n
- You know how they're delivered efficiently.
n
- You know the contractors, suppliers and people.
n
- You understand productivity and margin.
n
- You can build teams.
n
n
And you know how to turn capability into a pipeline of work.
n
This could suit an existing GM, Operations Manager, Construction Manager or senior industry leader ready to build something with genuine ownership.
n
The business has the projects and ambition.
n
They need someone who can build the capability around them.
