Powder Coater – $35ph Day Shift

The Company

Our client is a well-established company operating within the manufacturing, fabrication and construction industries, specialising in the production and finishing of metal products including metal fixtures, frames, fencing and fabricated components.

Job Details

- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Hourly rate: $35ph +superannuation
- Immediate start for the right person

Responsibilities & Duties

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing, powder coating and finishing a range of metal products and fabricated components.

- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, sandblasting and other preparation methods.
- Remove rust, grease, dirt, old coatings and other contaminants to ensure proper powder adhesion.
- Operate electrostatic powder coating spray guns to apply powder evenly and consistently.
- Select appropriate powder types and colours based on job specifications.
- Operate industrial curing ovens to ensure coatings are correctly cured and achieve a durable, high-quality finish.




- Safely operate air compressors, ventilation systems and other powder coating equipment.
- Load and unload products into industrial curing ovens.
- Inspect finished products for defects including uneven coating, bubbles, missed areas and other imperfections.
- Complete rework and touch-ups where required to meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, safe operating practices and company policies.

Requirements

- Previous experience in powder coating or a similar coating environment.
- Knowledge of powder coating techniques, materials and application processes.
- Experience operating industrial machinery and equipment.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and hazardous materials.
- Experience within construction, metal fixtures, fencing, manufacturing or fabrication environments is highly regarded.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Valuable work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Physically fit with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to commit long-term and transition into a permanent position.
