Hitech Remedial Builders Pty Ltd is an established construction company specialising in complex building repairs and façade rectification across Sydney.

We are seeking a part-time (16 hours), highly experienced, Senior Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper to join our accounts team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounts and bookkeeping functions of the business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working independently, has strong technical bookkeeping knowledge and can manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

About the role

Working closely with management and project teams, this hands-on role involves managing accounts independently with strong attention to detail in a busy construction environment.

Key responsibilities

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Processing and coding supplier and subcontractor invoices

Preparing and processing supplier and subcontractor payment runs

Monitoring outstanding debtors and following up overdue accounts

Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account discrepancies

Completing bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations

Managing project cost allocations and ensuring expenses are correctly coded

Processing end-to-end payroll

Reviewing timesheets and payroll data prior to processing

Managing leave entitlements, superannuation and PAYG withholding

Completing payroll reconciliations and maintaining accurate employee payroll records

Assisting with BAS preparation, GST reconciliations and associated reporting

Maintaining supplier, subcontractor and employee records

Liaising with management, project teams, suppliers,



subcontractors and our external accountant

Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation

Providing general financial and administrative support to management as required

About you

We are looking for an experienced accounts qualified who can confidently manage the role with minimal supervision.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

Extensive experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or similar finance role

Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance, such as a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting or equivalent

Demonstrated experience processing end-to-end payroll, including timesheets, leave entitlements, superannuation, PAYG withholding and payroll reconciliations

Sound knowledge of Australian payroll requirements and statutory obligations

Strong knowledge of GST and BAS requirements, including preparation and reconciliation

Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, general ledger coding and account reconciliations

Experience managing bank and credit card reconciliations

Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills





Experience using MYOB or Xero (MYOB preferred)

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounts function

A proactive and practical approach to problem solving

Previous experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.

Experience dealing with subcontractors, project costing, supplier accounts and construction-related financial administration will be viewed favourably.
