Our Branch
Transport Operations is responsible for the delivery of bus network services from eight bus depots, as well as performing bus network coordination and control through the Network Coordination Centre. We work diligently to ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the bus services provided to the community.
The Role
Carina Depot is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Depot Counter Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys playing a critical role in supporting frontline operations, delivering excellent customer service and helping keep Brisbane moving.
As the first point of contact, you will provide operational support to bus operators, assist with the timely dispatch of services and contribute to the smooth running of the depot. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will balance customer service, administration and operational coordination to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and reliably.
Key responsibilities
- Providing high-quality customer service and operational support
- Ensuring the timely dispatch and coordination of bus services
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Responding to operational issues and supporting bus operators to resolve day-to-day issues.
- Liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Completing administrative tasks and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Contributing to a secure workplace by supporting work health and safety obligations
- Working collaboratively with the depot leadership team to establish a positive workplace culture and support high performance standards.

To be successful you will have:
- Experience coordinating competing priorities and effectively allocate work to meet business requirements
- A high level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Strong customer service, communication skills, and relationship building skills with the ability to apply consistently apply these in a busy work environment
- Sound problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to make decisions and respond effectively with calmness, sensitivity and accuracy under pressure
- Experience using Council (or similar) systems and technology to manage information and support operations
- The ability to work collaboratively, contribute positively to team culture and support high performance standards
- Knowledge of bus operations, the Brisbane metropolitan area, Heavy Vehicle National Legislation and Chain of Responsibility will be highly regarded.
