ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

As a Local Area Coordinator, you'll work alongside people with disability, not just NDIS participants.

Through the NDIS Partner in the Community program, you'll support people to access information, services and opportunities in their local community.

As a Local Area Coordinator, you will:

- Help people with disability connect with supports, activities in their community and other government services to meet their needs.
- Share information about the NDIS and help people access the NDIS if needed.
- Work with NDIS participants to understand and use their NDS plan.
- Work in local communities to help them become more accessible and inclusive for all people with disability.

ABOUT YOU

We welcome applications from people with experience in one or both of the following areas:

Professional Pathway

- Relevant qualifications or experience in Disability, Allied Health, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education, Community Services or a related field.

Lived Experience Pathway

- Lived experience with disability, or an understanding of the impact of disability on individuals, families, carers and communities.

In addition, we're looking for people who have:

- Strong communication, listening and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working alongside communities to achieve shared goals.

- Confidence using a range of computer programs and technology, with strong attention to detail when entering and managing information.

Whether your strengths come from formal qualifications, lived experience, or a combination of both, we'd love to hear from you. We actively encourage applications from people with disability, and lived experience is a valued strength in this work.
