Indie Education is aneducational hub and home to a family of training and educational programs, providing learning services for all age groups, driven by a team that is dedicated and passionate about lifelong learning. Our programs cater for the needs and interests of young people, senior secondary school students in Years 9 to 12, the general community, third age learners, and adults with a disability in supported employment, training and lifestyle activities.

Due to company expansion, an exciting opportunity has been created for a Full-Time ICT Officer - Infrastructure Specialist to join our team, based at either Wodonga (Victoria) or Brisbane (Queensland).

In this role, you will support, maintain and enhance Indie Education's ICT infrastructure, with a primary focus on networking, connectivity, infrastructure modernisation, security, and operational reliability across a diverse multi-site environment. You will play a key role in ensuring stable and secure technology services, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and supporting the ongoing standardisation and improvement of network services across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders, vendors and service providers, you will support network and infrastructure projects, coordinate site upgrades and installations, contribute to technology modernisation initiatives, maintain technical documentation, support infrastructure operations, and provide high-quality customer service while helping ensure systems remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.

The role will provide support to employees and students across all sites and programs that encompass the Indie Education footprint: Inclusive of Indie School, Indie College, Indie Academy, Indie Services, Aware Programs and Corporate Services.

- Demonstrated experience supporting and administering enterprise ICT infrastructure, with a robust focus on networking, connectivity and multi-site environments.
- Sound knowledge of network technologies including switching, routing, wireless networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and internet connectivity.
- Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and network issues across multiple locations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, engage confidently with stakeholders and manage difficult conversations professionally.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain ownership of service requests and provide timely communication to end users.
- Experience coordinating technical works involving vendors, contractors,



service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites throughout Australia as required.
- Experience with various networking solutions, equipment and vendors (Ubiquiti/Cisco/Aruba, switches/firewalls/APs etc.)
- Experience planning and delivering network refreshes, upgrades and infrastructure standardisation projects.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune or cloud-based device and identity management.
- Experience or familiarity with CCTV systems, security technologies or related infrastructure platforms.
- Experience working within education, not-for-profit or multi-site organisations.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Support, maintain and optimise network infrastructure across multiple sites.
- Troubleshoot and support network outages, connectivity issues and performance concerns.
- Manage and support ongoing network standardisation and modernisation efforts.
- Support and maintain firewall, VPN, content filtering and network security configurations.
- Assist with network design, capacity planning and identify improvements to support organisational growth and operational requirements.
- Monitor and maintain ICT infrastructure to ensure availability, performance and reliability.
- Manage assigned service requests, incidents and escalations that are in relation to network and infrastructure environments.
- Build positive working relationships with employees, various stakeholders, contractors and vendors.
- Plan and deliver network upgrades, equipment refresh and improvement initiatives.
- Manage ISP services, service upgrades and new site connectivity requirements.
- Produce and maintain documentation, inclusive of procedures, network diagrams, proposals and implementation plans.
- Maintain and improve network and infrastructure security controls in accordance with organisation requirements and recognised best practice.
- Support network infrastructure patching,



vulnerability remediation and improvement initiatives.
- Assist and maintain equipment audits, asst management and compliance activities where required.
- Support backup, recovery and business continuity efforts where required.
- Maintain and support CCTV infrastructure and related requests.

For this role, applicants must be willing and able to obtain:

- Current Driver’s licence.
- National Police Check (issued within 3 months prior to appointment) and renewed annually.
- Relevant State Working with Children’s Check.

Hours of Work:

Remuneration:

- Level 3 (Indie Education Enterprise Agreement 2026 – 2029), currently $80,364 per annum plus superannuation.
