Purpose Built Outdoors is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee our active projects and provide day to day leadership to our employed construction teams.

Formerly known as Aldinga Home Improvements, we are an established South Australian outdoor construction company specialising in sheds, garages, carports, verandahs and complete outdoor projects. Our construction work is primarily completed by our own employees, supported by in-house fabrication, concreting, earthmoving, design and administration capabilities.

As Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating construction teams, overseeing multiple active sites and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

This is a practical, hands-on position that will involve regular site visits, employee supervision, quality inspections, customer communication and the resolution of construction issues. You will work closely with the General Manager and Office Manager to maintain an achievable construction schedule and keep projects moving through each stage.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Supervising active projects from site commencement through to practical completion.

Coordinating the daily allocation of construction employees and installation teams.

Working with the Office Manager to maintain the forward project schedule.

Confirming sites, materials, equipment and project information are ready before work begins.

Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, safety and presentation.





Providing practical guidance and technical support to construction employees.

Identifying and resolving site issues, delays and resource requirements.

Monitoring construction hours, labour productivity and project performance.

Managing defects, incomplete work, callbacks and practical completion inspections.

Ensuring employees follow company WHS procedures, Safe365 requirements and relevant safe work practices.

Keeping customers appropriately informed about construction progress and delays.

Addressing employee performance, attendance, workmanship and conduct concerns.

Reducing avoidable rework, material wastage, equipment hire and project delays.

Providing clear and accurate project updates to the General Manager and office team.

The successful applicant will have solid industry knowledge and previous experience supervising employees, installation teams or multiple active sites. Experience with sheds, garages, carports, verandahs or similar structures would be highly regarded.

You will need to be organised, confident and comfortable making practical decisions. You should be able to communicate professionally with customers, provide clear direction to employees and address performance or workmanship concerns fairly but firmly.

Applicants should hold a current Australian driver’s licence and Construction Industry White Card. A relevant trade qualification or substantial equivalent construction experience is preferred.
