STORE / RETAIL MANAGER Keli Kunj Retail Pty Ltd is an independently owned IGA fresh food retailer located in Byron Bay, NSW 2481. We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in store management and be capable of overseeing daily operations, staff performance, merchandising, purchasing, stock management, and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

- Take ownership of the store’s day-to-day operations, performance, and overall results.
- Manage a high-volume supermarket with a strong focus on fresh food and maintaining an appropriate product range.
- Achieve budgeted sales, gross profit, and labour targets.
- Oversee pricing and implement sales campaigns and regular in-store promotions.
- Ensure the store complies with all relevant legislative obligations and audit requirements.
- Maintain company standards and apply effective loss-prevention procedures.
- Lead and support the store team, including Department Managers.
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service across all departments.
- Negotiate favourable commercial terms and maintain productive relationships with suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers,



customers, and employees to achieve business objectives.
- Increase sales and guide the team towards profitable outcomes.
- Build relationships within the local community and represent the business professionally.
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage employee performance.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for the owner relating to financial accounts, staffing, regulatory compliance, and other business activities.

Requirements

- At least one year of full time experience, or equivalent part-time experience, in retail or store management, or in a department management or supervisory position that included financial responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supermarket retail operations successfully.
- A sound knowledge of product presentation, inventory management, stock control, and loss prevention.
- A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Intermediate computer and IT skills.
- Availability to work weekends when required.

An annual salary of $85,500 to $95,500, plus superannuation, will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on their qualifications, skills, and experience. Employment conditions will comply with the General Retail Industry Award (MA ).
