Job Description
About the role
n
The Manager, Workplace Technology is the service owner for Parliament's workplace technology (including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, Microsoft 365 applications, Teams telephony and endpoint operating systems) and related services. As the service owner IT has primary responsibility for delivering and supporting contemporary digital workplace technologies across all of Parliament's departments and locations. This includes managing end to end service life cycles for workplace technology including upgrades, transitions, retirements for endpoint devices, operating systems, collaboration tools, end-user telephony services, and user-facing applications.

The role leads a technical team to ensure workplace technology is reliable, secure and optimised to meet the needs of Parliament staff, Members and their electorate offices.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney's Botanic Gardens.

About you
n
In this role you will be required to show proven experience managing digital workplace technology services including device deployment, support, Microsoft 365 administration and end-user telephony. A proven experience managing staff and contractors in an IT setting. A strong technical understanding of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/11), mobile device platforms (iOS and Android) and collaboration platforms (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint). Experience coordinating desktop/laptop refresh programs, software deployments and endpoint security compliance and providing device user support.

Essential requirements
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
n
- Current Microsoft workplace technology certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Teams Administrator)
n
n
Certification or experience with ITIL Foundation (or higher) in service management practices.
n
