Hours per week: This role is worked across a roster cycle, with ordinary hours averaging 38 hours per week. Hours will be workedin accordance withan agreed roster and may vary from week to week to meet service delivery requirements due to the nature of events and performances
Remuneration: Band7salary from $115,575.61per annumplus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO
Location: This role may berequiredto work across multiple locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality

Aabout the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Wyndham’s Events team and help shape how one of Victoria’s fastest growing communities comes together, celebrates and experiencesitsmunicipality.

Reporting to the Coordinator Events & Placemaking, you will lead the Events service, including the planning and delivery of Council events and festivals, community and organisational event support, and the permitting of Council open spaces for community events and filming.

You will provide strong people leadership while also helping shape the future direction of the service through implementation of Council’s Festivals and Events Framework, event evaluation, continuousimprovementand strategic advice.

Working across Council and with community, government,industryand event partners, you will build strong relationships andprovidetrusted advice on event delivery, governance, safety,investmentand future opportunities.This role suits someone who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will be comfortable leading a team, managing complex event environments, improving systems and processes, and stepping into the detail when needed.

As events regularly occur outside standard business hours, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays will berequired.

What your day will look like

- Lead,supportand develop the Events team, setting priorities,allocatingresourcesand fostering a positive,accountableand collaborative team culture.
- Lead the planning, development and delivery of Council events and festivals across Wyndham.
- Oversee the permitting of Council open spaces for community events and filming, supporting a consistent and responsive service.
- Lead implementation of Council’s Festivals and Events Framework and associated service planning,evaluationand continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships across Council, community, government,industryand the broader events sector.
- Provide specialist event advice and recommendations to management and Council, including input into strategies, policies, capital works, publicspaceand infrastructure projects.
- Lead evaluation of Council’s events portfolio using community feedback, performancedataand return on investment measures to inform future priorities and investment.
- Provide leadership and oversight of event governance, safety,riskand compliance across Councildelivered events and the broader Events service.
- Identifyopportunities to improve systems,processesand ways of working, while encouraging innovation across the team.

What you will bring

- Extensive experience leading and managing teams to deliver successful event programs and organisational outcomes.




- Strong experience in the planning and delivery of major events and festivals.
- Strong stakeholder management and partnership skills, with the ability to work effectively across community, government,industryand complex organisational environments.
- Demonstrated experienceprovidingstrategic event advice and contributing to service planning, policy,evaluationand continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in event governance, risk,safetyand compliance.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, including the ability tooperateconfidently in complex or challenging situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality advice,reportsand recommendations in a politically aware workplace.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities andallocateresources effectively.
- A degree or diploma in Events, ArtsManagementor another relevant discipline with several years of relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications combined with extensive relevant experience.
