We have an opportunity for an experienced and qualified Mid-Senior Level Commercial Interior Designer to join our friendly and passionate team.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative Mid-Senior Level Commercial Interior Designer or Interior Architect to be based in our Melbourne office, located on St Kilda Road. This role will be reporting to the Design Manager/Director and working alongside and supporting the Design and Projects Teams.
Balancing aesthetics, functionality, and sustainable design principles, the ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio that showcases their ability to elevate brand identity through interior design while ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a full-time position, working Monday- Friday with working hours between 9-5 pm.
The ideal candidate will be Degree- qualified in Interior Design (or similar) and have experience working with Revit. Work experience in Commercial Design is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Concept Development:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and brand identity.
- Develop creative design concepts and present them to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and addressing feedback.
Space Planning:
- Analyze and optimize spatial layouts to enhance functionality and user experience.
- Create detailed floor plans, considering trafic flow, accessibility, and safety regulations.
Workplace Strategy:
- Incorporate workplace strategy principles to enhance productivity, collaboration, and employee well-being within design solutions.
- Assess and recommend design adjustments that align with the client’s business objectives and workplace culture.
Design Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including mood boards, color palettes, materials, and furnishings.
- Develop construction documents and specifications to communicate design intent to contractors and vendors.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns. Conduct site measures and site inspections to obtain client briefs.
- Foster solid client relationships, demonstrating an understanding of their goals and objectives.
Material and Product Selection:
- Research and specify appropriate materials, furnishings, and finishes that align with the design vision and client budget.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and sustainable practices to recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must have:
- A relevant qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ professional experience in a similar interior design or interior architecture role.
- Demonstrated experience working on commercial office fit-out projects, from concept through to documentation and delivery.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience using Revit, with a strong understanding of Revit-based design development and documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Rendering and visualisation experience is highly regarded, with experience producing high-quality architectural or interior renders considered an advantage.
- Strong digital and technology skills, including MS365, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation, reports, presentations and client-facing materials.
- Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards, particularly those applicable to commercial buildings and interior design.
- Demonstrated ability to develop detailed client briefs, understand project requirements and identify and manage scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven client-facing experience, with excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced design environment.
