About this role:
The Strategic Program Coordinator is central to turning Icon Water’s business strategy into tangible results. This role supports the Strategy Implementation Program through coordination, governance and reporting to keep strategic initiatives on track and delivering value. For someone who enjoys working across teams, bringing structure to complex work and helping translate strategy into results, this role offers a meaningful chance to shape how our strategic focus areas are delivered.
This is a newly created position offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term basis, with the potential to transition to a permanent role.
Other Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate strategic focus area planning by supporting business leads to develop clear plans, milestones, dependencies and deliverables aligned to enterprise priorities.
- Maintain integrated program plans, delivery schedules and milestone tracking to provide visibility of progress across the Strategy Implementation Program.
- Prepare high-quality program dashboards, insights and status reports for executives and governance forums, translating complex information into clear and actionable updates,
and support business leads to do the same for their strategic focus areas.
- Monitor program risks, issues, benefits, decisions, assumptions and dependencies, and support timely escalation, mitigation and follow-through.
- Maintain fit-for-purpose program governance artefacts, templates, registers and reporting processes that support consistent and efficient delivery practices.
- Partner with business leads to track delivery, surface interdependencies and help remove barriers to implementation.
- Support benefits realisation and performance monitoring by maintaining measures, tracking outcomes and helping assess whether initiatives are delivering intended value.
- Identify and implement practical improvements to program office processes, tools and governance rhythms, contributing to a mature and value-adding strategy implementation function.
- Provide high-quality secretariat and coordination support to program governance forums, including agenda management, minute taking, action tracking and follow-up.
- Build strong working relationships across the business and contribute to a collaborative, disciplined and outcomes-focused delivery culture.
- Other duties within the employee’s skill, competence and training.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for suitable candidates who hold Relevant tertiary qualifications in program management, business, public administration, finance or related discipline.
You should also have the following experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a program office, project management office or similar coordination and governance environment, with an understanding of portfolio management principles desirable.
- Experience preparing governance papers, reports,
dashboards and briefings for senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of program and project management disciplines, including planning, risk, issues, dependency and perks management.
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint; experience with Power BI, Planner is desirable.
- MSP, PRINCE2 or other program/project management certification is desirable.
