Brand Manager | Roller Sports and Extreme Sports
This role isn't for a brand theorist.
We need someone who has actually managed a physical consumer product brand, developed products, taken them to market and carried responsibility for sales, margin and profit.
The product range covers roller skates, inline skates, skateboards, scooters and related accessories. The customer is young, highly visual, trend-conscious and deeply connected to sport, fashion and culture.
You will own the brand's commercial performance across product, marketing, sales and e-commerce.
What you’ll own
Overall brand strategy and commercial performance
Sales, margin and profitability
Recent product development from initial brief through design, sourcing, testing and launch
Product pricing, target margins and minimum order quantities
Marketing strategy, campaign briefs and campaign performance
E-commerce direction, website performance and conversion
Consumer trends, competitor activity and market opportunities
Coordination across design, marketing, sales, production and regional teams
Who we’re looking for
You have already managed a physical consumer product brand within:
- Extreme sports
- Skateboarding or scooters
- Action sports
- Streetwear, footwear or youth lifestyle products
You understand that brand management is not just content, campaigns and social media. It is product, pricing, margin, distribution, sales and commercial accountability.
You should have direct experience in:
- Developing and launching physical products
- Wholesale and direct-to-consumer e-commerce
- Working with designers, manufacturers and marketing teams
- Identifying consumer trends and genuine market gaps
- Taking products from initial concept through to commercial release
- Managing brand performance against sales, margin and profit targets
- At least three years’ consumer goods brand-management experience
- Genuine physical product-development experience
- Strong commercial understanding of sales, margin and profitability
- Experience directing creative, product and marketing teams
Full Australian working rights
Ability to work from the Port Melbourne office each day
If your experience is primarily content, communications or campaign delivery, this is not the role for you.
If you have genuinely owned an extreme-sports, roller-sports or youth lifestyle brand and can show what you developed, launched and grew, we want to hear from you.
Your application will include the following questions:
- Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
- What's your expected annual base salary?
- How many years' experience do you have as a brand manager?
- How much notice are you required to give your current employer?
- Do you have Trend Analysis experience?
