A well-regarded Catholic secondary college in Melbourne's south-east is looking for a Learning Area Leader to head up its Technology department across Design, Food and Digital Technology. You'll report to the Assistant Principal — Learning and Teaching, lead a team spanning all three streams, and shape how Technology is taught here.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Leading curriculum development across Design, Food and Digital Technology, including VCE Study Designs and the Victorian Curriculum
n
- Building teaching capacity and pedagogy across your team
n
- Using data (NAPLAN, VCE, ACER) to track and improve student outcomes
n
- Managing the learning area's budget and resourcing
n
- Contributing to staff selection and building out your teaching team
n
n
Who We're Looking For
n
n
- Current VIT registration (or eligible/working towards)
n
- Full working rights in Australia
n
- VCE teaching experience in at least one of Design, Food or Digital Technology — essential
n
- Leadership or Learning Area Leader experience — desirable, not essential
n
- A genuine commitment to student safety and wellbeing,
and comfort working within a Catholic school's ethos and values
n

About You
n
You might already be leading a learning area, or you might be the classroom teacher everyone assumes will end up leading one eventually. Either way, you know at least one of Design, Food or Digital Technology properly at VCE level, and you're ready to take real ownership of how it's taught and implement innovative ideas.
