Reporting to the Food Services Manager, the Food Safety Coordinator will lead the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of our Food Safety Management System. You will oversee HACCP programs, quality assurance processes, regulatory compliance, food safety training, and product quality initiatives to ensure our meals remain safe, nutritious, compliant and of the highest quality for our customers. This role works closely with the Cook Chill Production Manager, Logistics Supervisor and broader operational teams to drive a strong food safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and continuously improve the Cook Chill Facility Food Safety Management System
Lead the development and maintenance of the HACCP Plan and supporting programs
Ensure compliance with Food Standards Australia New Zealand requirements, South Australian food legislation and aged care food safety regulations
Manage food safety audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate responses to food safety incidents, recalls and customer complaints
Support allergen management, infection control and food safety risk management activities
Conduct GMP inspections, internal audits and system reviews
Monitor Critical Control Points and verification activities
Prepare for and facilitate third-party HACCP and customer audits
Develop and deliver food safety and HACCP training programs
About you
Extensive food safety experience within a high-volume food manufacturing, processing, distribution or production environment
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining HACCP systems
Experience in Cook Chill extended shelf-life and Cook Freeze food production
Experience implementing food safety programs within vulnerable persons food service environments
Chef qualification and hands-on experience within production kitchens
Food safety auditing certification (Internal Auditor and/or Lead Auditor)
Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline
Experience managing end-product quality control, sensory evaluations and blind taste testing
Solid analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
