We are looking for a motivated Engineering Lead to join our team and lead the engineering delivery of the Command, Control, Communications and Computing (C4) capability within KONGSBERG.
As the Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for:
Systems Engineering
- Lead the application of systems engineering processes throughout the program lifecycle.
- Review, develop and maintain key engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Verification and Validation (V & V) Plan and System Safety documentation.
- Develop, maintain and manage stakeholder, system and subsystem requirements, ensuring traceability to contractual, operational and capability requirements.
- Support engineering change management, configuration management and technical baseline control activities.
- Ensure engineering artefacts remain aligned with customer requirements,
program objectives and organisational standards ensuring the solution meets the requirements of the Function and Performance Specification and the Statement of Work and Contract including during In Service Support phase.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership across systems, software, integration and support disciplines.
- Act as the program's technical authority within delegated engineering authority.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Technical Management
- Plan, coordinate and monitor engineering activities to support program objectives and contractual milestones.
- Support the preparation and implementation of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), engineering estimates and technical assessments.
- Assess technical impacts, resource requirements, risks and opportunities associated with follow-on work packages and future capability enhancements as part of the In Service Support including providing engineering status reporting to program and functional leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary engineering interface with Defence, the Prime Contractor, suppliers, subcontractors and KONGSBERG engineering teams.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with geographically dispersed and international engineering teams.
What you'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering,
Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated engineering leadership experience.
- Working towards or holding Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes, technical governance, and engineering management practices.
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Significant experience in systems, software, communications, or defence engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical delivery activities.
- Experience delivering complex engineering projects through integration, verification, acceptance, and transition phases.
- Experience working with Defence customers, Prime Contractors, and geographically dispersed engineering teams.
- Proven ability to manage engineering risks, priorities, stakeholders, and competing program demands.
- Experience developing technical documentation and supporting engineering governance activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
