National Operations Manager | Allied Health
Shape the next chapter of a growing national allied health organisation.
Cameron Wellness Centre is entering an exciting stage of growth, and we are looking for an accomplished operational leader to help shape what comes next.
We are seeking a National Operations Manager to lead our Operations function nationally and strengthen how our organisation performs, connects and scales across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
Reporting directly to our Directors, this is a newly created senior leadership role with genuine organisation-wide influence.
This is not simply an opportunity to inherit an established operating model.
It is an opportunity to help build the next one.
About Cameron Wellness Centre
Cameron Wellness Centre is a Supply Nation and NDIS registered allied health provider delivering evidence-based, strengths-based and person-centred services across Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology and Allied Health Assistance.
We operate across metropolitan, regional and remote communities and continue to expand our service footprint in response to community need.
As a First Nations-owned organisation, we are passionate about improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while welcoming and celebrating people from all backgrounds. Our work is underpinned by our values of Family, Community, Trust and Respect.
As CWC grows, we are deliberately evolving our leadership structure to provide dedicated national focus across Operations, People & Strategy, and Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement.
The National Operations Manager will play a central role in that next chapter.
The opportunity
As National Operations Manager, you will lead the organisation-wide Operations function and help ensure our growing service footprint is supported by strong systems, clear accountability, effective resource coordination and disciplined operational execution.
Working directly with our Directors and alongside our senior leadership team, you will connect organisational priorities with practical day-to-day delivery across regions, disciplines and service environments.
Your portfolio will include:
- national service operations and operational performance
- capacity, utilisation and demand management
- workforce and resource coordination
- operational planning and service continuity
- national operating rhythms and accountability
- operational reporting and performance insights
- financial and commercial performance interpretation
- workflow, systems and process optimisation
- cross-regional coordination
- business continuity and operational risk
- implementation of organisational initiatives; and
- operational readiness for future growth and expansion.
Understand the story behind the numbers
We are looking for an operational leader who is commercially astute and genuinely comfortable working with data.
You will interpret operational, financial and workforce information, identify trends and variances, understand what is driving performance and translate complex information into practical decisions.
Importantly,
you will be able to explain what the numbers mean - not simply report them.
You will provide our Directors and leadership team with concise, decision-ready insights and recommendations that strengthen organisational performance while protecting participant outcomes, service quality and workforce wellbeing.
You will need to understand the relationship between:
- workforce capacity
- utilisation and productivity
- service demand and activity
- workforce and operational costs
- revenue and performance
- resource allocation; and
- organisational sustainability.
What success looks like
You create clarity where complexity exists.
You see operational pressure before it becomes an operational problem.
You can move comfortably between the organisation-wide view and the operational detail.
You know when a process should be standardised nationally and when local flexibility will achieve a better outcome.
You are comfortable interrogating data, asking the right questions and respectfully challenging assumptions.
You establish accountability without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
You build trusted relationships while maintaining a strong focus on execution.
And you know how to move an organisation from:
“We should do this.”
to:
“It’s done - and it works.”
About you
You are likely an experienced operational leader from allied health, disability, healthcare, community services or another complex service-delivery environment. You may already lead nationally.
Alternatively, you may be an outstanding State, Regional, General, Clinical or Operations Manager ready to take the next step.
Your current title matters less to us than your demonstrated capability and impact.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- significant operational leadership experience
- experience leading multiple sites, regions, teams or geographically dispersed services
- strong capability in service capacity, utilisation and operational performance
- sound financial and commercial acumen
- confidence interpreting budgets, financial information, performance trends and operational cost drivers
- high-level data literacy and the ability to turn complex information into meaningful action
- experience establishing effective operating rhythms, accountability and performance visibility
- demonstrated systems, workflow and process-improvement capability
- experience leading operational change and organisational implementation
- solid leadership, influencing and stakeholder-management capability
- sound judgement when balancing commercial, workforce, participant and service priorities; and
- leadership behaviours aligned with our values of Family, Community, Trust and Respect.
Experience within allied health, the NDIS, disability,
healthcare or another regulated human-services environment will be highly regarded.
Experience supporting geographically dispersed, regional or remote operations will also be highly regarded.
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, operations, health, allied health, healthcare administration or a related discipline is expected. Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be viewed favourably.
A genuinely national leadership role
This is not a national role in title only.
The National Operations Manager will maintain an appropriate leadership presence across CWC’s operating footprint and develop a genuine understanding of the environments in which our people and services operate.
You will need the capacity and willingness to undertake:
- metropolitan, regional and remote travel
- overnight and multi-day travel where reasonably required; and
- reasonable flexibility associated with operating across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
Travel will be planned with appropriate regard to organisational priorities, safety, fatigue management and effective use of resources.
Why Cameron Wellness Centre?
There are operational leadership roles where you inherit a finished operating model.
This opportunity is different.
You will join CWC at a stage where your expertise, judgement and leadership can genuinely influence how our national operating model evolves.
You will have the opportunity to:
report directly to CWC’s Directors
join our senior organisational leadership structure
shape a newly established national Operations function
influence how a growing allied health organisation scales
strengthen the systems supporting frontline clinicians and leaders
work alongside dedicated People & Strategy and Quality & Compliance leadership
work across metropolitan, regional and remote service environments
contribute to a First Nations-owned organisation with genuine community purpose
help build sustainable national growth; and
leave a meaningful operational legacy.
We value high performance, accountability and continuous improvement - but we also believe sustainable growth should never come at the expense of our people, our values or the quality of services we provide.
Location
We are taking an intentionally flexible approach to location as we search for the right person.
The successful candidate may be based within an appropriate location across Cameron Wellness Centre’s operating footprint, subject to organisational requirements and mutual agreement.
What matters most is your ability to lead effectively across a genuinely national portfolio.
Diversity & Inclusion
At Cameron Wellness Centre, diversity is not simply a statement - it is embedded in our values of Family, Community, Trust and Respect.
We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people of all abilities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Cultural knowledge, lived experience and diverse perspectives are deeply valued within our organisation and contribute to the strength of our people, services and communities.
