About our opportunity

We're looking for a commercially minded and influential Principal Procurement Officer to help deliver that vision.

This is more than a procurement role. It's an opportunity to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, influence significant commercial decisions and contribute to projects and services that support one of Queensland's most visited and loved destinations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Contracts, you'll be South Bank Corporation's lead procurement and commercial advisor, responsible for delivering complex and high‑value procurement activities that support the organisation's strategic objectives.

You'll work closely with leaders across the Corporation, providing trusted advice on procurement strategy, commercial models, contract structures, supplier engagement and contract management.





From planning and market engagement through to negotiation, contract award and implementation, you'll drive procurement outcomes that deliver value, manage risk and support the strategic objectives of the Corporation.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading complex procurement activities from concept to contract award.

Developing sourcing and market engagement strategies that deliver value for money.

Providing expert commercial and procurement advice to senior stakeholders.

Leading supplier negotiations and commercial discussions.

Identifying opportunities for strategic sourcing, category management and procurement improvement.

Strengthening procurement capability across the Corporation through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Championing ethical, transparent and accountable procurement practices.

About You

You're a commercially astute procurement professional who enjoys working across a broad range of challenges and opportunities.

You bring a versatile and adaptable approach, are comfortable navigating complexity and can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery. You build trusted relationships, influence outcomes through credibility and sound judgement, and have the commercial mindset to identify opportunities, manage risk and deliver long‑term value.

You will bring:

Experience leading complex procurement, sourcing or commercial initiatives.





Strong commercial acumen and sound business judgement.

Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.

The ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Relevant qualifications in procurement, commerce, business, law, supply chain management or a related discipline.
