As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to join our leadership team and help drive the next stage of our success
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will lead all aspects of the company's finance function while providing strategic financial insight to support business growth and operational performance.
This isa hands‑on leadership role requiring a strong technical accounting background, commercial acumen and the ability to partner with operational managers across multiple projects and business units.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing day‑to‑day finance operations while contributing to strategic planning, financial modelling, business improvement initiatives and executive decision -making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to support business growth and profitability.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations.
- lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
- Develop financial models to support operational and investment decisions.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and capital expenditure requirements.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage all accounting, financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.
- Deliver accurate financial forecasts, budgets and variance analysis.
- Manage year‑end reporting and coordinate external tax accountants.
- Oversee tax compliance, BAS, payroll tax and statutory obligations.
- Develop and maintain financial controls, policies and procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor finance staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Build strong relationships with operational management, external advisors, banks and stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role,you will possess:
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience within construction, civil contracting, mining services, plant hire or related industries highly desirable.
- Strong financial and management accounting expertise.
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes.
- Sound knowledge of taxation, payroll, superannuation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong systems experience, including Xero accounting software and Microsoft 365.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and organisational change.
