Lead the Venue. Build the Team. Own the Result.
An established Western Australian hospitality group is appointing a Venue General Manager to lead a premium food-and-beverage venue in Perth.
This is the senior leadership role on site. You will bring together guest service, bar, kitchen and commercial performance, supported by a Head of Guest Experiences who leads the floor and a Bar Manager who owns the beverage operation. Your responsibility is to make the entire venue perform as one team.
The Role
As Venue General Manager, you will be accountable for overall venue performance: the guest experience,
team culture, revenue, profitability, cost control, compliance and daily execution.
You will be highly visible in the operation and lead from the front, but this is more than a floor-management position. You will set expectations, develop your leaders, make commercially sound decisions and establish the operating rhythm that allows the team to perform at its best.
You will know what is happening across the venue during service and understand what the numbers are saying at the end of each week. When trading is busy, you will bring clarity and calm. When performance is off track, you will identify why and act early.
What You’ll Own
Venue Leadership and Team Culture
Lead the venue management team and create clear accountability across front of house, bar and kitchen operations.
Directly lead and support the Head of Guest Experiences and Bar Manager, ensuring both functions work toward one venue plan.
Recruit, onboard, develop and retain a high-performing team with the capability and attitude to deliver exceptional hospitality.
Set the tone for a culture that is energetic, respectful, accountable and genuinely guest-focused.
Run structured manager meetings,
pre-service communication and post-service reviews so priorities and follow-up actions are explicit.
Build leadership depth across the venue rather than becoming the only person who can solve problems.
Protect and continuously elevate the complete guest experience across food, beverage, service and atmosphere.
Commercial and Financial Performance
Take ownership of venue revenue, profitability and controllable costs.
Build and execute practical plans to achieve sales targets across dining, bar, group bookings, events and key trading periods.
Manage labour deployment, rostering and productivity without compromising the guest experience.
Monitor food and beverage costs in partnership with kitchen and bar leaders, addressing waste, variance and margin leakage.
Review weekly performance, understand the drivers behind the numbers and take corrective action where required.
Identify opportunities to improve average spend, repeat visitation, booking conversion and venue utilisation.
Operations and Execution
Ensure smooth, coordinated execution across front of house, bar, kitchen, bookings and events.
Establish reliable venue routines, service standards, opening and closing controls, handovers and management reporting.
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, maintenance and operational readiness.
Plan for peak periods, functions and special events so teams, stock and spaces are prepared.
Work closely with group leadership and shared-service teams while maintaining clear ownership at venue level.
Safety, Licensing and Compliance
Maintain a safe, responsible and compliant venue environment.
Ensure liquor licensing obligations, responsible service, food safety, workplace safety and incident procedures are understood and followed.
Keep training, certifications, registers and operating records current and audit-ready.
Respond decisively to incidents and elevate material risks promptly through the appropriate leadership channels.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful when the venue delivers a consistently memorable guest experience and produces sustainable commercial results. The leadership team will operate with clarity, the wider team will understand what strong performance looks like, and service will remain controlled and energetic even at full pace.
Your impact will be visible through revenue and profitability, labour and cost control, guest feedback, repeat visitation, team retention, leadership capability, booking performance and compliance standards.
Who You Are
You are an experienced hospitality leader who can hold the detail and the big picture at the same time. You understand that energy and personality matter, but they must be supported by discipline, systems and commercial judgement.
You are present without micromanaging, direct without creating drama and commercially focused without losing sight of the guest. You make expectations clear, hold people accountable and give strong operators the support and space to lead.
All applications will be handled confidentially. Further information about the venue and employing group will be provided to shortlisted candidates at the appropriate stage of the process.
