OverviewAWS is seeking Associate Support Engineers to support secure cloud infrastructure environments within the AWS Region Services team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting operational systems and helping maintain highly secure and scalable AWS environments supporting sensitive workloads. The role requires strong Linux systems knowledge, technical problem-solving skills and the ability to operate within fast-paced operational and engineering environments.

The role
As an Associate Support Engineer within AWS Region Services, you will support operational systems, troubleshoot technical issues and help maintain secure cloud infrastructure environments.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshooting Linux and cloud infrastructure issues
- Supporting operational systems, dashboards and change management activities
- Collaborating with engineering and AWS service teams to resolve issues
- Supporting process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Developing technical documentation and operational run-books
- Assisting with operational reporting and system monitoring
- Supporting technical issue resolution across AWS services
- Participating in on-call rotations and out-of-hours incident response when required
Skills and experience
- Minimum 1 year' experience in technical support or Linux systems administration
- Experience scripting in modern programming languages
- Understanding of networking protocols including HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Robust troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems highly regarded
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and networking fundamentals desirable
- Experience supporting server, storage, networking or distributed systems environments desirable
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship required
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Ability to successfully complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment
- Ability to participate in on-call and out-of-hours operational support as required
- Ability to work within highly secure operational environments
