Bask Early Learning
Queensland
We're looking for a Centre Manager to lead the team at our BRAND NEW centre; Bask Early Learning Ellen Grove. Set the tone. Be the calm when the day gets big and you'll be backed every step of the way by a Support Office that has your back, so you never run a centre alone.
ABOUT BASK
Bask Early Learning is family-owned and operated, with centres in Logan, Ipswich and Toowoomba. We exist to raise the standard of early childhood education and care in Queensland. Our BASKeteers are the people who make that real, every day, in every room.
THE ROLE
Type: Permanent Full Time (Salary)
Reports to: Head of Centre Operations
As the Centre Manager (Nominated Supervisor), you carry the culture, the roster, the family relationships and the bottom line. When something goes sideways at 7:02 am, people look at you for guidance. And when it goes right, you get to watch a whole centre thrive because of how you lead it.
The centre is run by you, supported by a non-contact in centre Leadership Team (2IC/ Quality & Compliance Leader & Educational Leader). As a team, you set the tone families notice the moment they walk in: the calm, the warmth, the standards. You back your educators to do their best work, and you shape the culture of the centre every single day.
THE CENTRE
Bask Ellen Grove is a 120-place centre, architecturally designed, with 7 classrooms for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. Ratios sit at 1:4 for under threes and 1:8 for over threes, better than the regulatory minimums, so your educators get more time with each child. Outside, beautiful nature rich outdoor playscape designed by the talented team at Wearthy. Inside,
the Family Lounge has fresh bakery items, a breakfast bar, and complimentary tea and coffee for educators and families.
YOUR IMPACT:
- The daily operation of the centre: rostering, supervision and team management
- As Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person in Day-to-Day Charge, you hold compliance with the National Law, National Regulations and Bask policy
- Lead and mentor your Centre Leadership Team, the Quality & Compliance Leader and Educational Leader, and grow the next leaders on your team
- Lead child protection, mandatory reporting and Queensland Child Safe Standards practice at centre level
- Partner with the Educational Leader to deliver our bespoke inquiry based curriculum; "Bloom With Bask", aligned to the EYLF and QKLG
- Build genuine relationships with families, lead tours, and convert enquiries to enrolments
- Own occupancy, the centre budget and CCS administration, and report to the Head of Centre Operations
- Keep the QIP a living document, and keep the service Assessment and Rating ready all year, not the week before
- Support your team's wellbeing. Notice when someone is stretched, and act before they break
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (minimum)
- Demonstrated experience in centre leadership or management
- Eligibility to be accepted by the Regulatory Authority as Nominated Supervisor and Person in Day-to-Day Charge
- Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations and the National Quality Standard
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012)
- Current Queensland Blue Card
- Current Child Protection training
- Current National Police Check, consistent with fit and proper person requirements
NICE TO HAVE
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience preparing a service for Assessment and Rating (desirable)
- Familiarity with OWNA and Microsoft SharPoint, Teams and OneDrive (desirable)
WHAT WE OFFER
- Market-competitive salary package with above award rates and leadership bonus incentives
- 90% discount on childcare for your own children
- Paid birthday leave every year
- Christmas week closure, 51 operating weeks
- Strong professional development program, including international PD opportunities
- Employee Wellbeing and Assistance Program
- Career progression across our growing centres, backed by "Grow with Bask", our internal mentoring framework
CHILD SAFETY & INCLUSION
Bask is a Child Safe Organisation. Every BASKeteer holds a valid Queensland Blue Card and meets the Queensland Child Safe Standards. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we work to make every centre a place where children and educators feel safe, seen and supported.
