AWS is seeking Support Engineers to support secure cloud infrastructure environments within the AWS Region Services team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, supporting operational systems, improving support processes and helping maintain highly secure and scalable cloud environments supporting sensitive workloads. The role requires strong Linux systems knowledge, technical problem-solving skills and the ability to operate within fast-paced operational and engineering environments.

The role
As a Support Engineer within AWS Region Services, you will support operational systems, troubleshoot complex technical issues and help maintain secure cloud infrastructure environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex Linux and cloud infrastructure issues
- Supporting operational systems, dashboards and change management activities
- Collaborating with engineering and AWS service teams to resolve issues
- Supporting process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Developing technical documentation, tutorials and operational run-books
- Supporting onboarding and mentoring activities for new team members
- Assisting with operational reporting, diagnostics and system monitoring
- Participating in on-call rotations and out-of-hours incident response when required
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in support engineering or Linux/Unix systems administration
- Strong understanding of scalable computing systems and distributed environments
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Valuable understanding of networking, software deployment and operational processes
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with cloud computing environments highly regarded
- Experience with networking technologies including switches, routers and load balancers desirable
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship required
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Ability to successfully complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment
- Ability to participate in on-call and out-of-hours operational support as required
- Ability to work within highly secure operational environments
