Own the Morning Dispatch - Keep the Warehouse Moving

Rory's Group is seeking a practical, hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Lead to coordinate our daily warehouse, loading, dispatch and driver activity from our Cavan operation

This is a working-lead role for someone who likes being on the floor, keeping people organised and making sure the critical morning dispatch window runs smoothly. Our driver and loading activity is concentrated during school-service weeks, with much quieter school-holiday periods used for warehouse organisation, maintenance coordination and operational improvement

Why Join Rory's?

Monday to Friday operation with a strong day-shift focus

Take ownership of the critical school-term loading and dispatch window

Lead a small warehouse and driver team while remaining hands-on

Work in a stable South Australian family business with more than 23 years of history

Use quieter school-holiday periods for warehouse organisation, fleet checks, maintenance coordination and process improvement

About the Role

The Warehouse & Logistics Lead is a practical working-lead role responsible for keeping Rory's day-to-day warehouse and delivery operation organised, ready and reliable. The role has concentrated responsibility during school terms when loading, dispatch and driver activity is at its busiest

This is not a senior logistics management position. The successful person will be hands-on in the warehouse, coordinate the morning loading and dispatch window, give clear direction to drivers and warehouse team members, resolve routine issues and escalates material risks early

During school-holiday and lower-volume periods, the role remains productive through warehouse organisation, stock and equipment checks, fleet and maintenance coordination, cleaning, documentation, process improvement and other practical operational support

Respond to routine delivery issues and escalates customer-impacting or material problems promptly

Maintain visibility of missed items, late departures, route problems and return-to-base issues

Complete or coordinate routine vehicle, refrigeration and equipment checks

Arrange approved servicing, repairs and maintenance and keep records current

Ensure vehicles are presented safely, cleanly and ready for use

Escalate significant vehicle, refrigeration or safety issues before they affect service

Support accurate receipt, storage, rotation and movement of stock and operating supplies

Maintain practical warehouse controls, labels, storage locations and daily checklists

Identify stock discrepancies, damaged goods or recurring process issues and report them early

Use quieter periods to reset storage areas, complete cleaning and improve warehouse layout and organisation

Maintain simple checklists, vehicle records, run information, incident notes and warehouse documentation

Update agreed systems and trackers accurately and on time

Identify practical improvements to make loading, dispatch, driver communication and warehouse work more reliable

Support cross-training so key daily tasks can continue during leave or absence

Follow workplace health and safety, food handling, cold-chain and company procedures relevant to the role

Promote safe manual handling, loading, vehicle and warehouse practices

Maintain respectful communication and a calm, accountable working environment

Report incidents, hazards and near misses promptly and support corrective action

About You

Practical warehouse, store person, distribution or logistics experience

Confidence coordinating a small team and giving clear day-to-day direction

Experience with loading, dispatch, delivery runs and basic warehouse controls

Current Australian driver licence and a safe driving record
